Controlled Stool Collection System

Enhancing the effectiveness of infection prevention remains one of the most significant and crucial challenges faced by healthcare facilities. One aspect of infection prevention is ensuring an appropriate system for controlled stool collection. The effectiveness of the Flexi-Seal system offered by Skamex in preventing infections and the spread of Clostridium difficile has been confirmed by studies [1,2], and its use is recommended by the Polish Association of Epidemiological Nurses [3]. Additionally, using a controlled stool collection system helps minimize the use of materials such as underpads, diapers, washcloths, and personal protective equipment for staff. This also translates to significant reductions in nursing staff time and overall costs of care for patients with fecal incontinence.
